It can be hard to keep on budget when you go on Pinterest and you scroll down all these amazing interiors and you basically want to shop everything. Today I'm sharing my Top Five Home Decor Ideas for when you're on a budget so you can go ahead and have a fully instagrammable home for very little money!

Candles
Okay, let's get this cliché out of the way.

I'm very partial to candles. Love the scents, the clean aspect, the hygge-ness of it, just love it. Nowadays, you can get good quality cheap candles almost anywhere - here's a delicious Vanilla and Coconut candle that will burn for 20 hours - and they are a quick and easy way to add either a pop of colour (if you go for colored candles) or a cute decoration for any desk, table or shelf. They are my go-to decoration, and I will have several across the flat at all times. I find it really relaxing to have lit candles when I'm trying to unwind after a work day.

Plants
And I don't mean flowers!

Flowers are great, but they are expensive and don't last if they are bought. But it is so easy to grow your own indoor plants! The only tricky bit is knowing which plant might suit you better. If you're after a small decoration for your desk, I definitely recommend succulents - they are easy to maintain and will last in cold environments - and you can buy a small one for about 2£. You might think that a plastic one would be better but they are actually more expensive!

Blankets
Or throws, textiles in general really!

If given the chance I will buy every single cute throw I find. It is harder to find reasonably priced blankets, but you can still find super warm and cheap ones on stores like poundstretcher. A simple coloured blanket will massively impact any neutral room and give you that much needed colour! They also keep you warm, which is important when you live in the UK too! I  Iike to stack mine by colour and display them when not in use to give my living room some colour!

White Board
If you're feeling artsy

If you enjoy the ocasional doodle, or you love writing inspirational quotes, I suggest you get a white board! You can incorporate it with the rest of your decor and have a beautiful inspirational quote inspiring you at every turn or draw a cute doodle to make you smile! This is my exact one - I opted for half cork half white board because I wanted to have a place to pin cute postcards or flyers I collect. I love doodling on it and writing inspirational quotes!

Get Crafty!
unleash the creativity within you

My mom was always very crafty, and one time made us necklace holders out of logs! They're still standing in my mom's house. Hand-crafting small items is still one of the best - and my favourite - ways to decorate your home and give it some personality! This specific DYI will bring some earthy-ness to your decor. There's so much you can try and do if you let yourself be creative. I did some upholstering recently to restore some chairs and decorate my living room! You can even make a wall of your photos, arrange them by colour or in order to make a pattern or a shape - it's a great way to liven up boring white walls!

These are my Top five items! What are your suggestions for budget-decorating? Do you usually spend a lot of money on small decorations or are you more of a DYI-person?
